HPPSC SET Exam Pattern 2024
The State Eligibility Test is divided into two papers. Total marks of SET are 300. The papers are objective type. The test will be held in the month of March/April 2024 Tentatively. The test will be conduct only in one day. In these two papers, each question will carry 2 marks. Candidates have to attempt the examination in OMR sheet. The marks distribution is given below:-

Paper I – it shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching or research aptitude of the candidate. In paper I the commission will test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. All questions are compulsory.
Paper II – Subject of Paper II is based on the candidate’s preference. All questions are compulsory in this paper.

- Learner’s characteristics: Characteristics of adolescent and adult learners (Academic, Social, Emotional and Cognitive), Individual differences.
- Factors affecting teaching related to: Teacher, Learner, Support material, Instructional facilities, Learning environment and Institution.

Mathematical Reasoning and Aptitude:

- Mathematical Aptitude (Fraction, Time & Distance, Ratio, Proportion and Percentage, Profit and Loss, Interest and Discounting, Averages etc.)
Logical Reasoning:
- Understanding the structure of arguments: argument forms, structure of categorical propositions, Mood and Figure, Formal and Informal fallacies, Uses of language, Connotations and denotations of terms, Classical square of opposition.
- Evaluating and distinguishing deductive and inductive reasoning.
- Analogies.
- Venn diagram: Simple and multiple use for establishing validity of arguments.
- Indian Logic: Means of knowledge.

Top 6% of the appearing candidates should secure at least following aggregate marks in both the papers will be qualified in SET Exam 2024-25 –

Candidates who will clear the cut off marks for his/her subject, will be deemed qualified in State Eligibility Test as per the official’s criteria.
