SSC CHSL Selection Process 2024:
Recruitment will be done through Computer Based Online and skill test or typing test on computer. This will depend on the post you are applying for. Post wise recruitment steps are given below –
For Data Entry Operator (DEO) posts – Written Exam and Skill Test.
For Postal assistant & sorting assistant (PA/SA) and LDC – Written Test and Typing Test.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern:
Computer Based Online Exam will be of Objective Type. The exam will be taken for 2 hours duration and 50 questions will be asked comprising of 200 marls question paper. There will be four papers in the SSC CHSL Syllabus exam paper and will need to be answered on OMR sheet. SSC is trying to conduct the exam online.
Negative marking will be there for wrongly answered question. .25 marks will be deducted for wrong answer.
SSC CHSL Syllabus 2024 Download:
There will be four parts in the written exam which are –
- General Intelligence (50 marks).
- English Language (50 marks).
- Quantitative aptitude (50 marks).
- General awareness (50 marks).
SSC will decide if there is a cut off for each section or in aggregate or in total.

Skill Test (for DEO):
Those who will clear the cut off marks for the written exam of CHSL for DEO will be called for Skill Test. In skill test, a passage in English language will be given. Candidates will be required to enter data in Computer as 2000 correct key-depressions / strokes in 15 minutes. That is candidates must have data entry speed of 8000 key strokes per hour. For visually handicapped (VH) candidates, relaxation in time will be given.
Typing test (for TA/SA & LDC):
Those who wants to join LDC and TA/SA will have to face typing test on computer. Shortlisted candidates will be called for typing test. They will be given a SSC CHSL Syllabus which have to be typed in computer within 10 minutes. From that, a candidate will be judged how much typing test he has per minute. Basically one candidate must have typing speed of 35 words per minute in English and 30 wpm in Hindi. They will have to choose the language of the typing test while filling up the application form.
Both the typing and skill test will be of qualifying in nature. So, final merit list will be prepared for them only who have passed on skill / typing test on the basis of written exam only.
