Latest Update: As per the latest notice of WBBPE, the board announced that candidates who have appeared on the final semester of the two years D.El.Ed course and are waiting for the result, are also eligible for WB Primary TET 2017.

WB TET Eligibility Criteria 2017 2018:
First of all, on the short intimation (notice no 1167/BPE/2017 dated 12/05/2017) the WBBPE had said that “persons who have acquired the academic and professional qualifications specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23-08-2010 are eligible to apply for WB TET 2017.
Class 1 to 5 Teacher for Govt Primary School –
- Higher Secondary or HS (12th Pass) or equivalent with 50 % marks and 2 years D El Ed.
- Senior Secondary or HS (10+2) with at least 50 % marks and 4 years B.El.Ed.
- HS with 50 % marks and D.Ed (special education).
Minimum academic qualification must be obtained before 09-10-2017.
Relaxation of Marks in 12th HS:
5 % Marks Relaxation will be provided to the SC, ST, OBC A, OBC B, Physically Handicapped (PH), EC, Ex-serviceman, DH (Death in Harness) category candidates. That is candidates falling in the above mentioned categories will be eligible if they have at least 45 % marks in their Higher Secondary Examination. For General the Minimum Cut Off Marks / Qualifying Score in 50%.

Final Year (2nd) Candidates Eligible or not:
On the notification no mentioned above, published on the WBBPE official website, it was said that the final year or 2nd year candidates of the D.Ed or D.El.Ed course are also eligible if they have appeared in the final year exam on the date of that notification and waiting for their result. Now on the latest notification they have said that candidates who obtained the above minimum academic qualification after 09-10-2017, will not be eligible for the posts.
