RRB Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) & Technician Exam Syllabus 2024 Written Test Online Exam Pattern Selection Process
RRB has invited online application form eligible candidates Notice (Cen) No. 01/2024 dated 03.02.24 for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and Technician categories. Candidates can apply online through the website www.indianrailways.gov.in. Starting date if online application is 03.02.24 and it will continue till 05.03.24 up to 23.59 hrs. Candidates should be physically fit. Eligible candidates can download their e-call letter from the website of RRB. For further information candidates must check the website regularly. RRB Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) Technician Examination Pattern 2024
- There will be two stages of examination (First stage CBT and second stage CBT) common for ALP and Technician.
- Candidates who have opted for ALP and qualified in Second stage CBT have to undergo Computer based aptitude test (AT).
- There will be negative marking for each wrong answers in first and second stage of CBT.
- ⅓rd marks will be deducted for each wrong answers.
- There will be no negative marking for computer based aptitude test.
- First stage of CBT examination will comprise subjects like Mathematics, General Intelligence and reasoning, General science and General awareness on current affairs.

Second stage CBT examination have two parts. Part A will be based on questions from subjects like Mathematics, General intelligence and reasoning, Basic science and engineering and General awareness on current affairs. Part B shall have questions from the trade Loco Pilot Syllabus prescribed by Director General of Employment and Training (DGET).

First stage CBT (Common for ALP/ Technician) Syllabus Download

Second stage CBT (Part B) Syllabus
This part is qualifying in nature and have questions from the trade syllabus.
Number of questions is 75 and time duration for the test is 60 minutes.
RRB ALP Technician Selection Process
Minimum percentage of marks required for-
First stage CBT (Common for ALP/ Technician) and Second stage CBT (Part A)
UR- 40%, OBC/ SC – 30%, ST- 25%
Percentage of marks is relaxable by 2% for PWD candidates.
Second stage CBT (Part B)
35% for all candidates and no relaxation is permissible.
Computer based aptitude test (only for candidates who have opted for ALP)
Candidates needs to secure a minimum score of 42 marks in each of the test.
