Constable Vacancy Punjab Police 2024 in District & Armed Police Cadre

Punjab Police has released official recruitment notification for the posts of Constable for the year 2024. Vacancy is there for district and armed police cadre in the state police force. Both male and lady constable will be recruited. The recruitment notification has been published on their official website through advertisement no 1/2024 dated 31-05-2024. Below is post wise vacancy break up list for male and female candidates –

Total vacancy for Male Constable is 6252 posts and number of vacancy for lady constable is 1164 posts. Range / commissionerate and district wise and category wise vacancy has been given on their official notification. Please download the official notification from the link given below (PDF). Vacancy will also be reserved for the sports person quota and ex-serviceman (ESM), SC ST OBC candidates.

Educational Qualification Required:

Eligibility for Punjab Police Constable Post – Candidates who are willing to join Punjab police must have passed 10+2 or Higher Secondary or intermediate exam. They should also have studied Punjabi in their matriculation or 10^th level as optional or compulsory subject. Requirement for ex-serviceman candidates is same but if they had not studied Punjabi then they must cleat the language test within 2 years of recruitment.

Salary Structure:

Recruited armed police and district police cadres of Punjab Police Constables will be paid in the pay scale of Rs 10,300 – 34,800 with grade pay of Rs 3,200. Other allowances will also be included in their monthly salary.

Age Limit:

Lower Limit = 18 years,
Upper Limit = 28 years.
Calculation of the age will be done as on 1-01-2016. Age relaxation will be given for the reserved category candidates. Ex-serviceman candidates will be given +3 years from the retirement from defence service.

Exam Fee:

General Candidates – Rs 400.
SC ST Candidates – Rs 150.
Ex-serviceman candidates – Nil.
Fee can be paid either by online or via offline method. HDFC Bank Challan will be generated in the second step of registration process in case of offline payment and the fee is to be submitted top any nearest HDFC branch.

How to Apply:

Official portal of Punjab Police has given the detailed guidelines and instructions on how to apply for the Constable post in Punjab State. Candidates have to submit Common Application Form (CAF) online for applying to the post.
