Assistant Professor Vacancy in HPPSC College Cadre
Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission will recruit assistant professor in College Cadre for the year 2024. Assistant professor (college cadre) Class I (Gazetted) in the Department of Higher Education, Himachal Pradesh (HPPSC).
Vacancy:
Total vacancy for the HPPSC assistant professor has been advertised as 490 posts. Vacancy will be reserved for the SC ST OBC PH Ex-serviceman (ESM) and other candidates also. There are separate seats for separate subjects like English, Hindi, Economics, Physical Education, Math, Physics, Chemistry etc. Subject wise and category wise vacancy break up list can been found from the official advertisement notification.
Educational Qualification Required:
Eligibility for assistant professor in HPPSC – Candidates should have 55% marks in relevant subjects in their master’s degree that is (M.Sc, MA etc). Another essential and mandatory requirement for the assistant professor post in College is that they must have qualified NET / SLET conducted by UGC, CSIR. Those who have been conferred with a Ph.D degree, can apply for the post even if they don’t have NET / SLET passing criteria.
For Physical Education Teacher –
Master’s degree in physical education with at least 55% marks for general. They should also have either qualified NET / SLET / SET or having a Ph.D degree. They must possess physical fitness and there will be separate test for physical fitness (PST – Run / walk).
This 55% criteria applies only to the General Candidates. For the SC ST OBC Ex-serviceman and other category, relaxation in minimum marks is there.

Salary Structure:
As the assistant professor will be recruited on contract basis, they will be given consolidated salary in fixed remuneration basis. Rs 21,600 will be the total monthly salary for the assistant professors of HPSSC. No other allowances will be given to them.
Age Limit:
Lower Limit = not mentioned by the recruiter.
Upper Limit = 45 years.
Relaxation in upper age limit will be given as per the official rules category wise.
Exam Fee:
General Category – Rs 400,
SC ST OBC – Rs 100,
Ex-serviceman – Nil.
