Recruitment Process of Assistant Engineer (AE) Download CG SES written exam syllabus
The written test may be online or offline as will be decided by the commission. If the exam is taken offline, answer is to be given on OMR sheet. The exam paper will be objective in nature where Multiple Choice Questions or MCQs will come.

CGPSC State Engineering Service Selection Process
CGPSC will recruit assistant engineers in the commission through following steps –
- Written Exam and
- Interview / personality test.
We have given detailed instructions and information about each of the steps below –
CGPSC AE Exam Pattern 2024
There are two papers in the written test and they are –
- Paper I and Paper II.
Duration of both the paper is 2.30 hours.
Each paper will carry 150 questions each having 2 marks. So, marks distribution is given below –
- Paper I – 300 marks (150 questions),
- Paper II – 300 marks (150 questions).

Paper I – General awareness:
- Part 1 – General Knowledge.
- Part 2 – Knowledge of Chhattisgarh State.
- Part 3 – General aptitude question.

Questions from this paper will come from the particular trade of engineering subject. So paper will be different for Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, agriculture etc. for each of them. CGPSC Engineering Service Interview (75 marks):
Those who will clear the qualifying or cut off marks of the written test will be called for interview. They will be asked about their subject as well as general questions. There is no qualifying marks for the interview separately.
CGPSC AE Final Merit List Preparation
After combining both the marks of written test (600 marks) and interview (75 marks) final selection or merit list will be published. This is the last step of ae recruitment through CG SES.
