UPSC has issued recruitment notification for the posts of Geoscientist, Geologist, combined geo-scientist and geologist examination 2024. Recruited candidates will be posted in Various Group A posts in Geological Survey of India, Central Ground Water Board. Geologist, Geophysicists, Chemists, Junior Hydrogeologists posts are there in this latest UPSC Notification 2024 which will be recruited through the Union Public Service Commission Combined Geologist & geoscientist examination 2024. Details of the post and vacancy:
Following posts will be recruited in UPSC 2024 through the above mentioned exam –
Category I – (Posts in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines).
- Geologist, Group A: 40 posts,
- Geophysicist, Group A: 40 posts,
- Chemist. Group A: 25 posts,
Category II – (Posts in the Central Ground Water Board , Ministry of Water Resources)
- Junior Hydro-geologists (Scientist B), Group A – 33 posts,

Educational Qualification Required for Geologist Posts:
Eligibility for Geologist & geoscientist Exam – Master degree / M.Sc in Geology, Physics, Chemistry or relevant subjects.

Last date for online application form fill up – 03-03-2024.
Monthly Salary for Geologist & Geo-scientist Group A posts:
Recruited posts in UPSC will be paid in the pay scale / band of Group A Grade as decided by the Union Public Service Commission. Other allowances will be included in their monthly salary.
Age Limit:
Lower Limit = 21 years,
Upper Limit = 32 years.
Upper age relaxation will be provided to all the reserved category candidates including ex-serviceman as per the norms of UPSC. Age will be calculated as per their reference date.
