Rajasthan PSC conducts RAS & RTS every year where in this combined exam both the Rajasthan administrative service and subordinate service cadres are recruited. Selection Process of RAS / RTS of Rajasthan PSC:
There will be 3 steps in recruitment which are –
- Preliminary Exam,
- Mains Exam,
- Interview or personality test.
1) Pre Exam (200 marks) –
The preliminary exam of RAS / RTS will be of 200 marks test. The duration for the test is 3 hours. This will be a screening test only. Marks obtained in the pre exam will not be calculated in the final merit list of the candidates. There will be objective questions or MCQs in the written prelims paper. No mention of negative marking has been stated by RPSC.
Syllabus of the Pre Exam: General Knowledge and General Science. This will be of graduation level.
2) Mains Exam (800 marks)–
The main exam will be of descriptive type. Candidates have to write medium or brief or long answer. There will be 4 papers in the test. Each paper will be of 200 marks and 3 hours will be given to answer the paper.
Syllabus for the mains exam: Following are the 4 papers in the main exam –
- Paper I – General Studies-I
- Paper II – General Studies-II
- Paper III – General Studies-III
- Paper IV – General Hindi & General English.
Paper IV will be of Higher / Senior Secondary Level. Answers of this paper can be given either in Hindi or in English.
3) Interview (100 marks)–
Personality test or viva will be conducted for those who will clear the main written exam in RPSC. Final selection will be based on the merit list which will consider both the RPSC RAS Syllabus marks obtained in mains and interview. Those who are having NCC certificate will be given preference for Rajasthan Police Service (RPS).
